Clock House, Cappel Lane. The bridge can be seen but the stream is now "piped" and houses built on the reclaimed land behind the railings. The Clock House, Stanstead Abbotts. I seem to remember it was once the "Mill Restaurant" with a caberet on a saturday night, and Tom Jones once performed there, but my memory is clouded. Photo 2006. Abbie Mae Florists. Date unknown but judging by the Austin pickup truck I would date it to the 1950's, and I would bet a pound to a penny that the truck belonged to Son Carter, sadly no longer with us. ane and Able, High Street Stanstead Abbotts. South Street Stanstead Abbotts is the only road access to the Marina. Boats may be very easy to navigate on water but can prove difficult on land. This driver made it without any problems. July 2005. A wooden hut in the grounds was used as a church for celebrating Mass. After the church stopped using the site the house was let out to a Mr Lovick but the house gradually fell into a poor state and became uninhabitable. Mr Lovick moved out in 1973 and the site was sold for redevolopement. (See next two pictures.) Photo 1983
